Company Parking 🏎️

Hello guys!

How was your week?

Mine was quite intense, I'd say, but it's normal, I guess? Everyone is rushing before Easter break🐣

This Friday, I want to talk about the Company Parking lots and all the funny or sometimes stressful situations they can create:
  • The “CEO Spot” Myth:
At some companies, the CEO's parking spot is purposely placed far from the building to set a good example of humility and to encourage walking... 
Comment: Now name 3 companies where you saw that!!😅 
  • Speed Bumps Born from Productivity:
Some company lots had to add speed bumps because employees were drag racing at the end of the day to beat traffic!
Comment: Yes, I admit it, I was one of them...🙄

  • Painted Personality:
Some creative companies let employees custom-paint their parking spots, turning asphalt into an art gallery.
Comment: Please tell me if you have ever seen one because I'd pay a ticket to visit this open-air museum!🖼️
  • Parking Lot as a Status Symbol:
In Silicon Valley, where car culture is big, where you park (or what you drive) can be seen as a subtle flex.
Comment: What's the price for the employee with the bigger car??
  • Surveillance Comedy Gold:
Security footage from company parking lots has been the source of funny workplace bloopers, like people trying to avoid puddles and failing epically.
Comment: I loved watching AFV (America's Funniest Videos)

  • Puzzle Lots:
Some tech companies have intentionally complex parking layouts to encourage problem-solving and creative thinking right from arrival. 
Comment: Wild, right? But it's true!🧩
  • The Mystery of the Empty Spot:
There’s always that one random spot that no one parks in. No one knows why. It just... feels wrong.
Comment: I swear I've noticed that too. Can someone explain to me why??

But, thanks God, it can also give inspiration to great causes like:
  • Green Parking Perks:
Many eco-conscious companies give priority parking to hybrid or electric vehicles as an incentive to go green.🌱
Comment: I guess is more common with car manufacturing companies, but ok, there is some good in here.
  • Parking Lots Can Make Your Business Do Better — Here’s How:
Images are important in business. Unless you are a legacy business that has become a local institution, people are unlikely to seek out your establishment and endure the lack of a parking spot just to try out whatever it is you’re offering. 
A well-designed and maintained parking lot not only improves the curb appeal of the establishment but also implies smart management. It tells people that the owners are mindful of every aspect of their business and that they’re responsible and caring towards their customers.
Comment: I honestly didn't think of this aspect, but now that I'm reflecting on it, I must admit it's true. Whether as an employee or a customer, a big, organised and clean parking lot immediately gives me a sense of positivity.

 Happy Friday, guys! This week, I want to discuss Health and Safety Training. 🔨🪓 Where do we even begin? Health and safety training is important, but it can be mind-numbingly boring. Do you remember the mandatory courses you have to repeat every year, even if you spend 95% of your time just sitting in front of a computer? Those training sessions that convey the same information in slightly different words each year? You know, the ones that deliver life-saving reminders like, “Don’t run with scissors” or “If there’s a fire, leave the building.” Wow! Revolutionary, right? And let's not forget the two-hour module dedicated to explaining how to lift a box.😑 Unfortunately, there’s no escaping these sessions!
