Stereotypes About Secretaries π©π»
Hello my dear readers!!!π
Did you miss me?!
Let me start with a question: How many of you have wondered (no, not that kind of wondering..π) about why your boss employs a secretary who can't even manage to send an email?
Bosses’ secretaries inhabit a peculiar and intriguing niche within office culture.
On one side, they appear to be privy to every bit of gossip that flows through the workplace, yet when you inquire about something you genuinely wish to know, they suddenly claim to have “not heard a thing.”π
They protect the boss’s office like a nightclub bouncer, albeit without the leather jackets or velvet ropes.
And if you attempt to sneak by? You’ll invariably hear the same phrase: “The boss is in a meeting”—even when you just saw him scrolling through Instagram at his desk.π±
Their typing prowess is legendary, clocking in at an astonishing 90 words per minute, although most of those words seem to consist of the timeless phrase, “Per my last email.”π§
They are more familiar with the vending machine schedule than HR is with your actual benefits package, and when you finally seek their assistance, they mysteriously claim to be “too busy.”
Oddly enough, they always manage to find time to arrange the boss’s pens in a perfect colour gradient.π️
The most amusing aspect? Secretaries frequently run the operation more effectively than their bosses, yet they still insist they are “just helping out.”
When you request something from them, they’ll sigh, roll their eyes, and make you feel as if you’ve asked for a kidney transplant—only to turn around and execute the task flawlessly, leaving you both annoyed and begrudgingly impressed.
However, in truth, they are the unrecognised champions of every workplace:
- Human Calendar: Understands the boss’s timetable better than the boss themselves… even including those “secret golf meetings” that mysteriously stretch to four hours.π
- Email Whisperer: Can interpret a three-word email like “Fix this” into an elaborate 17-step project plan.
- Professional Excuse Maker: Expert at crafting last-minute justifications for why the boss simply can’t make it to that meeting. (“Oh dear, the flu again… how unfortunate.”)π♀️
- Coffee Sommelier: Can gauge the boss’s mood solely based on how much sugar they prefer in their latte.
- Walking Firewall: Has prevented more random salespeople, irate clients, and bewildered interns than the IT department ever managed.π
- Corporate Psychic: Always senses when the boss needs to “suddenly step out” just before bad news is about to be revealed.
Yes, I can guess what you're thinking: isn't he about to discuss the secret love affairs?π
Ah, the tantalising allure of office gossip—the speculated romances between bosses and their secretaries.π·
Whether these tales hold any truth or are merely shared over coffee, they have woven themselves into the fabric of workplace legends.
The signs are always familiar: the secretary who seems to know precisely why the boss is “staying late,” the oddly timed business trip accompanied by an extra “assistant,” and the late-night “documents” that remain unseen.π️
During the day, their emails are impeccably crafted and professional; by night, their messages are filled with emojis that could send HR into a frenzy.
Then come the transformations—the boss suddenly appears dapper in new suits and cologne, while the secretary shows up with vibrant lipstick to complement her look.π
Coworkers whisper about “Mrs Boss in training,” though they never speak loudly enough to face accusations.
And while nothing is formally acknowledged, subtle hints reveal everything: the “Sir” in the office morphs into “darling” when no one else is around.
Ultimately, it hardly matters if the affair is real.π―
