In the contemporary corporate landscape, there exists a particular creature that warrants both examination and careful evasion: the Over-Demanding Recruitment Manager 🕵️‍♀️😵‍💫📋.

While they may not always be visible, their influence is unmistakable in the natural environment of job descriptions that initially seem straightforward… only to gradually transform into a chaotic collaboration involving five departments, three consultants, and an overwhelmed AI.

It typically starts off quite innocently. 

A job advertisement emerges, radiating friendly corporate enthusiasm: "We are seeking a motivated, curious, proactive team player 😊.

You think to yourself, okay, this is standard fare. Nothing to worry about. You continue reading.

And then, much like a drawn-out horror film, the requirements begin to pile up.

Five years of experience with a tool that was just launched last Tuesday 📊.

Proficiency in platforms that seem to have been named by someone who sneezed while typing 💻.

"Robust strategic thinking" paired with "hands-on execution" and "the capability to independently transform the business" (but please, don’t question anything 🙃).

By the time you reach the middle, you’re no longer perusing a job description.

You’re deciphering a spell book.

Somewhere between "cross-functional leadership" and "data-driven storytelling," you start to wonder if they’re truly looking for a human or if they’re piecing together a hybrid entity made of consultant DNA, Excel formulas, and sheer optimism 🧠⚡.

And then we encounter the legendary "nice-to-haves" 😌✨.

This charmingly naive section asserts that everything is optional while subtly acting as a concealed gatekeeping mechanism.

"Not crucial," they proclaim, all while casually enumerating skills that would necessitate three lifetimes, two PhDs, and a brief stint at NASA 🚀.

You are comforted not to fret about them, of course… just before being quietly filtered out for lacking them.

What adds to the amusement is the faith in the "perfect candidate" 🦄.

A mythical creature who is both a junior and a senior, a specialist and a generalist, a quick learner and an instant expert, a team player and a solo performer, and of course completely aligned with KPIs, OKRs, KPWhatever-Rs 📈😄.

This individual is also anticipated to be available right away, never make errors, and feel profoundly thankful for the chance to do the work of 2.7 people for the pay of 0.8.

After a few weeks, the all-too-familiar message surfaces: "We are struggling to find talent in the market." 😐📉
